Adopt-a-Highway
Olivet has adopted part of 765, from St.Pauls to Sneades.
To attend the next church clean up, you will need to meet
at the church before heading out. Our next one is October
23, 2010 at 8am. If you are interested in becoming
a part of this, talk with Pastor Faith (410) 326-8400.
Shut-In Ministry
Olivet is committed to ministering to those who are unable
to leave their home or nursing center. Worship services
are held at the Solomons Nursing Center on Dowell Road
every Sunday at 2pm. Our congregation is the host church
for the second sunday of the month and every fifth Sunday.
We also offer a worship service each Wednesday at the
Adult Day Care at the Ripple Center in St. Mary's County.
Lay Speaker Teddy Foote leads worship at both sites.One-on-One
visitation, card ministry and a prayer cloth ministry
are also part of the way Olivet seeks to extend grace
beyond the pews.
Prison Ministry
Each month, the Word of God and the Love of Christ is
taken into our nearby women's prison, through our prison
ministry that partners with Point
of Change Jail and Street Ministry, Inc . If you are
interested in becoming a part of this, talk with Nurture
Chairperson, Tiffany Gaines. (410) 326-8400.
