Weddings at Olivet Congratulations on your decision to marry and to bring this commitment before God, friends and family. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but don't lose sight of how God is at work in bringing all things to fullfilment. An important first step is to begin pre-marital counseling with a pastor. In your time together, you will discuss your faith as well as create the wedding ceremony in the way that is most meaningful to both of you. Pre-Marital Counseling Pastor Faith does a three session counseling with couples, preferably three months before the wedding. This can be done after work hours, or in the case of long-distance weddings, it can be done via phone, skype or email. Pastor will also officiate for couples who have attended counseling with other pastors, workshops, or agencies. The cost of the premarital counseling only is $200. The times are arranged according to the couples' schedule. For the pastor to officiate your wedding, the cost is $300. (If she does your counseling, then the cost is $200 for counseling and $100 for the wedding.) Sanctuary Olivet Church provides exceptional wedding services in our historical church's chapel in the heart of the Olivet neighborhood in Lusby, Maryland. Our sanctuary seats 100 people - and there is air conditioning for those hot summer weddings. There is an organ, a piano and a sound system which can integrate your CD's or taped music. Cost of the Sanctuary is $200 including the rehearsal time. Reception Area / Hotels The Fellowship Hall is available to rent for $100 per hour if you would like to hold your reception on site. It comfortably seats 75 for meals. However, we are just five miles from Solomons Island, where you will find reception venues at local hotels such at the Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn Select Solomons. Bridal Party Accomodations The bridal party can have access to a room for changing in the Good News Center, if arranged ahead of time and included in the rental contract. The Good News Center is located across the street from the Chapel. Weddings at Other Locations Pastor Faith will officiate weddings at locations other than inside the church building. She has presided over weddings that were held on the beach, on a military base, and in state parks. Currently, she is licensed to do weddings in Maryland, the District of Columbia and parts of Virginia. Utilzing Outside Clergy Pastor Faith is responsible for the oversight of all weddings at Olivet. The fee for Pastor Faith to officiate your wedding (without counseling services) is $300. However, if you would like to rent the church and bring your own minister for officiating, that is fine too. The cost of the church (or sancturay) rental is $200. Arrangements will be made so that a trustee is present during the wedding and rehersal when Pastor Faith is not officiating.
